  1. Oh wow, that’s about the worst possible place to have made that mistake! If it had been halfway around, at least you wouldn’t have had to go back as far.

    1. Yep, but I probably would not be me if I didn’t do this on the first round! I rarely do this kind of thing once the pattern is established, but the first round always gets me!

      1. a teacher I once had calls it “the FREAKING set up round” and made us all feel better by sharing the number of times she will pull it out and re-do it to get it right. I hope fixing this wasn’t too awful.

  2. Yes I see it, hence my trepidatons re color knitting yet it is so rewarding! Count count count lol

      1. I’ve knit one colorwork hat quite successfully….We Call Them Pirates skull cap hat (avail on Rav) very proud of it! Want to do more color work knitting….love lace kniiting yet not with laceweight yarn.

      2. I just love colorwork — I think my favorite project was actually a pair of colorwork socks I did last year (Kate Davies’ First Footing). I love them so much I have yarn in my wish list to knit two more pair. I was worried how they’d hold up and feel, but I absolutely love them. Lace knitting is definitely easier in fingering weight or heavier — it’s been a while since I’ve done some lace knitting, but I have a sweater and always have a couple shawls in the ‘ol queue… it always takes a while to get there though!

      3. I enjoy it, too, my fave thing to knit is cables, however. The more complex the better for me! I am still at beginning stage imo yet others tell me not so. lol We are always our own worst critic are we not?

  3. I’d be tempted to do an increase in that blue stitch, whichever increase would be the most invisible, but that’s just me 😉 Absolutely hate to rip! Hate to make mistakes, as well, but the older I get, the more forgiving I am with myself and ripping back is the last resort! Good luck and I’m sure your project will be beautiful!
