June Merry KAL Announcement.

June is here. This month marks this KAL’s mid-point — six months done, six to go.

At this milestone, I have to share a couple important lessons I have learned from this KAL. As I have planned each month’s installment out I have discovered that not only can I carry a little bit of the Christmas spirit with me throughout the year, it makes me really happy to do so. I’ve also learned that if I take the time to look, there is always something to celebrate. Be it an anniversary, a birthday, new friendships — you name it, there is always something. As much as the Christmas spirit — or maybe this is just what the Christmas spirit looks like in June — I have been carrying that little bit of thankfulness and joy with me every day. It has made each day just a little brighter, just a little more special to keep these things in my mind and close to my heart.

That being said, June’s Christmas ball will be…

Christmas Ball #30: Heart

Another simple, classic, universal theme for us — make your heart as basic or embellished as you like. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  1. I have this book also. My son bought it for me for Christmas. Nice to see one of the balls made up because I haven’t started yet! It’s a good idea to do one a month. Are they difficult?

    • You know, they are a great way to get into fair isle knitting if you haven’t tried it before because they are such small projects. There are more than a few knitters in the KAL who have come into the Knitalong having never worked in stranded colorwork & they are all really enjoying it and doing a really fantastic job! If you want to join us, we are very informal – you can see the KAL guidelines (there aren’t many) here on my blog. We have a pretty active discussion thread on Ravelry, too. It is a place to share ideas & ask questions when you have them. It’s also a really fun group of knitters! If you have any questions, just let me know! I am more than happy to help!
