April Merry KAL Wrap-Up

April 30th is upon us, friends. As always, here are some photos of my finished Christmas Ball for this month.

april ball Christmas Ball #26: Dancing Around the Tree, complete with a plate of snickerdoodles (recipe from Smitten Kitchen).

april close-upA little close-up — I love how the detail  where the colors change at the top of the ball is so seamless.

april crochet loopI will confess I had to do some emergency drying last night & then an 11th hour crochet loop attachment which I accidentally shorted a bit (whoops!). My ball has been done for days, but I got a little distracted by nice weather and put off blocking a bit too long. No harm, no foul. It’s dry and lovely now.

Many thanks to everyone who has posted up their photos on the Ravelry thread of their finished Christmas balls — they look so great & it has been so rewarding to know that everyone seems to have enjoyed this motif as much as me. Each and every one of you will be entered in a drawing for our giveaways — yay! If you ran a bit short on time this month, any entries posted to the Ravelry thread by midnight (12:00am CST) will be included in the giveaway drawing — oodles of time to knit up one of these little Christmas balls  and win one of the fabulous prizes! Remember that you can knit any Christmas ball from the book — the only rule is it has to be completed between April 1st & April 30th!

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the reveal of May’s Christmas ball — until then, happy knitting!

  1. Very much looking forward to the next pattern. I’ve got this idea in my head that I’ll do May’s pattern and then immediately “catch up” on all those which I did not do. I think this has something to do with needing small knitting projects right now.

    1. Sweet! I have this idea in *my* head that I am going to get this month’s installment done early rather than late…. I am not sure how likely this is, but that’s what I am thinking anyways!

  2. Beautiful! I’ve been sticking with red and white so far but seeing your photo has got me thinking of ordering some green yarn too.

    1. I was going to go into blues, but have decided to stick with red, green, white, & brown — although I haven’t decided if I’ll use the brown again. I really like the variety!
